Engine 54

1994 Pierce Dash. This Type 1 engine has a pump rated at 1500 gpm, carries 1000 g of water, and is equipped to dispense Class A and Class B foam. It is powered by a 370 hpCummins turbo diesel and World transmission and carries a crew of six in its enclosed cab. It is one of two Type 1engines at the WSFD. Click here for photo.
 

Engine 55

1991 Pierce Dash. This Type 1 engine has a pump rated at 1000 gpm, carries 1000 g of water, and is equipped to dispense Class A and Class B foam. It is powered by a 300 hpCummins turbo diesel and carries a crew of two in its enclosed cab plus two in the jump seats behind the cab. Click here for photo.
  

Booster 57

1999 Pierce Initial Attack Pumper. This apparatus is based on a Ford F550 chassis with Powerstroke diesel power. It carries 200 gallons of water, has a 450 gpm pump, is plumbed for 4-inch intake and class A and B foam. It also carries the department's medical quick-response equipment. It is used for medical emergency response, brush fires and as a manifold to distrubite water in remote locations that E54 and E55 cannot access. Click here for photo.

1985 Chevrolet. This Type 5 engine has a pump rated at 250 gpm, carries 200 g of water, and is equipped to dispense Class A foam. It is powered by a 350 ci Chevrolet V8. It is used to fight wildland and brush fires. This vehicle was acquired from the Oregon Department of Forestry. Click here for photo.
 

Tender 59

1981 International water tender. This apparatus has a pump rated at 350 gpm, carries 2500 g of water, and is equipped to dispense Class A foam. It is powered by a Detroit turbo diesel. It was converted from a U.S. Forest Service tender in 1994. Click here for photo.
 

Salvage 58.

This 1984 van carries a cascade air system for refilling self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) air bottles and various other equipment for salvage and overhaul operations. Click here for photo.
 

"Jaws"

This 1982 Chevrolet utility carries the "Jaws of Life". It reponds to all motor vehicle accidents in the lower Hood River Valley. This equipment is jointly owned by the departments of the Valley. Click here for photo.
 

1932 Dodge

This is the first fire apparatus used by the department. It was recently donated back to the department by a past member. Its restoration is nearly complete, thanks to the help of West Side volunteers, local busineses and the Ring Kings car club. Click here for photo.
