For parents with young children, this is a fun blog or on line forum where you can go and chat about what's going on with your little one, ask questions, and find support.
Learn and Play Programs are now offered in White Salmon and Stevenson.
These fun and free events are held at Stevenson Elementary
and Whitson Elementary School in White Salmon.
Come sing, listen to stories and play with your pre-schooler!
Find parenting information and resources you can use with your whole family, meet other Moms and Dads and learn how fun learning can be.

These programs are sponsored by the Ft. Vancouver Regional Library, Stevenson-Carson School District, White Salmon School District, Skamania Klickitat Community Network, Wee Care of Stevenson, Educational Service District 112, Skamania County Community Health and Klickitat County Health Department.
Free Playgroups for parents and children
- Underwood: Fridays 10:30 am-1:00 pm.
Make new friends at Underwood Community Center, just off Cook-Underwood Road, about one mile up from SR 14. Join this group of parents and their little ones in Underwood in Skamania County. There's a great playground for outdoor play, along with a covered shelter and picnic tables.
- Stevenson: Thursdays at 10:00 am 427-3980
Rock Creek Center, Stevenson for babies & toddlers (up to two years of age.) If you have books or toys to share, bring them along. The more the merrier!
- White Salmon Play Group Fridays 10:30-12 at the Early Childhood Center The Early Childhood Center is in White Salmon near Henkle Middle School. It is open for parents with children birth to three.
- Mill A offers a playday for local parents, too. Friday mornings at 10:30
Held at Evergreen Community Church on Jessup Road, little ones ages birth to six are welcome to come with a parent or grandparent and enjoy time together with other children.
Afterschool/Summer Programs
Skamania County Facilities and Recreation offers fun times for kids during the summer and after school.
They offer an indoor playground, too, for those rainy, gray days.
Henkle Middle School in White Salmon has their Project Open Door program-call 509-493-1502
Hood River Community Education offers dozens of programs, classes and activities for kids and adults. Check them out at http://www.hrcommunityed.org/
Library Programs
Toddler Story Times
Parents, caregivers and children are welcome to come and enjoy books and stories offered by your local library. All programs are free and open to everyone. Stories, songs, fingerplays, crafts, puppets and more are provided! Call your local library for times and learn about other really cool, really fun special events for all ages.

Programs for Peaceful Living/White Salmon:

Skamania County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault holds support group meetings for clients.

Oregon Family Support Network:
Meets the first and third Mondays of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Childcare is available on site. This group is open to Washington residents also. It meets at the Life in Christ Center on Cherry Heights in The Dalles, Oregon.
