In 1988, voters approved creation of the Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District, which includes most of Hood River County. The mission of the Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District is to provide recreational opportunities to the citizens of the District, with focus on the youth of our community. Facilities and programs will be developed and maintained to provide safe and economical recreational environments for all users. The District’s role has expanded from operating the Hood River Aquatic Center to meeting a variety of the community parks and recreational needs.
Currently we provide for the recreational needs of the community through the following facilities: Aquatic Center, Skate Park, Ball Fields, City/Small Parks and Trails.
