Executive Board Meeting
The next Executive Board meeting will be 7:00 AM Tuesday, March 25th at the Hood River Charburger. All members are invited to attend. Future meetings are April 29 and May 27, 2003, same time and place. If you have comments or suggestions and can't make the meeting contact one of the chapter officers below.


Next Chapter Meeting
April 8, 2002 6:00p.m - China Gorge Restaurant - Hood River, OR - Management on Industrial Lands in the Gorge - Steve Hanson, Forest Manger for Longview Fibre Corp. will discuss land management practices on the company's 88,000 acre holdings in Washington and Oregon in the Columbia Gorge. Steve will cover everything from planting to harvesting.

Last Chapter Meeting - At the last meeting some members of the public attended. An invigorating discussion occurred with the Hood River county administrator Dave Meriwether and Ken Galloway. Members of the public showed a great amount of interest in the process of policy and management of the county forests.

June Tour - Tentative plans are to go to Rick Strachan's place on Fir Mountain. Rick has been doing some innovative wetland restoration work on his forested property. At this time the date we are working on is June 14, 2003 at 1000. Please hold this date and confirmation will be in the next newsletter.

Meeting Ideas - Rick Strachan is soliciting ideas for chapter meetings. If you have ideas contact him at the number below.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

Future Chapter Meeting - May 13, 2003 - Dinner at 6:00pm, at the China Gorge in Hood River, program immediately following. Still confirming speakers about the coming fire season in Oregon and Washington. Budgets are still up in the air. Stay tuned.
