Executive Board Meeting
The next Executive Board meeting will be 7:00 AM Tuesday, January 28th at the Hood River Charburger. All members are invited to attend. Future meetings are February 25 and March 25, 2003, same time and place. If you have comments or suggestions and can't make the meeting contact one of the chapter officers below.

Next Chapter Meeting
January 14, 2002 6:00p.m - China Gorge Restaurant - Hood River, OR Program - Brain Bair USFS Fish Biologist - Brian works for the Gifford Pinchot national forest and will discuss unique habitat restoration projects on the forest. Dinner at 6:00 with the program immediately following.

2002 Annual Meeting Proceeds; We have received our share of the annual meeting proceeds. The total amount was $7269. That now gives the chapter in excess of $8000 in the treasury. Ole and Patrick have held a meeting on December 19, 2002. Patrick and Ole will report on the outcome of the meeting with other committee members at the January 14 meeting. This meeting was a scoping meeting to brainstorm ideas on how to put the money to effective use.

This project is not being undertaken in a vacuum. Your ideas and support are needed to make it work. Always feel free to contribute.In the past, the chapter has sponsored a local 7th grade student to attend the youth natural resources leadership conference every spring at the Magness Tree farm near Canby. Do you know a youth that might be interested in this? Is this something the chapter would like to continue?

Electronic Newsletter - The chapter doesn't have the ability yet to send the newsletter out this way yet. The best we can do is post it on web sites. The state society requests that chapter newsletters be forwarded to the Leslie Batten the OSAF web master. I do this when I send the newsletter to the Northwest office. The newsletter is posted on the state society page within a day or two of me sending it to them. If this is a more convenient way to check out the newsletter please do so. UPCOMING EVENTS

Next Meeting - February 11, 2003 - Dinner at 6:00pm, at the China Gorge in Hood River, program immediately following. The program is in the works. We will let you know at the next meeting and in the next newsletter.
