Time – 6:30pm Dinner, 7:00pm Ross Holloway, State Forests Program Director

Ross will be discussing the innovative system of structure based management used on state forests in Oregon.  The system allows for the development of larger old growth like stands yet allows for intermediate entries.  This system is being used in Habitat Conservation Plans accepted by the federal government. ?

2002 OSAF State Meeting - The date for the 2002 meeting has been set for May 8, 9 and 10, 2002 in LaGrande, OR. OSAF executive meeting is held on the 8th at 1:00pm with the general sessions starting at 8:00 am on the 9th. Mark your calendars.

Forest Management Tour: We are still considering the possibility of a tour focusing on forest health and land management issues. This would be a tour open to the public in order to provide them with an understanding of the economic and environmental factors affecting current forest management practices.

If you are interested in helping to arrange such a tour, please come to one of our next meetings to help us decide where and when we should have this tour.

Finances: We have $931 in our Checking and Savings accounts.
