Executive Board Meeting

The next Executive Board meeting will be Tuesday, May 9th at 7:00 AM at the Hood River Charburger. All members are encouraged to attend.

May Meeting

Richard Haynes, economist from the PNW, will be speaking on forest economics and how changes in the forest industry impacted local communities. He will be speaking at the China Gorge, Thursday May 25^th at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Come and listen to how forest economics impacts our local communities.

Fund raiser- Arbor Day Tree Drive

The Arbor Day Plant a Tree Drive was held at Safeway, April 8^th. Five volunteers gave away trees from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and raised $200.00. A great big thank you to Lava Nursery for donating the seedlings, Larry Hoffman and the State Forestry Department for use of a table, Dennis Carlson for donating the maples, Richard Larson for the signage, Elizabeth Bialkowsky, and John Forsberg for their time.

June 24^th - Field Trip Kreps Ranch

Everyone is welcome. Field trip will feature classes on topics such as thinning, pruning, forest health, fire, wildlife management, marketing, and the like conducted either hourly or as 3 hour special emphasis classes. Forestry equipment vendors will also be on hand. We are being asked to help either as instructors or in the operations of the day. This even attract between 250 and 450 attendees.
