Executive Board Meeting

The next executive board meeting will be on Tuesday, April 6 at 7:00am at the Hood River Charburger. All members are encouraged to attend.

April Meeting

The April Chapter meeting will be on Thursday, April 15 at the China Gorge Restaurant. Our speaker will be Rob Jones from the National Marine Fisheries Service. He will speak about the new fish listings.

Seeding Sale Fundraiser

There will be a tree seedling sale on Saturday, April 17 at the Hood River Safeway parking lot from 9am  1pm. Lava Nursery will donate 200 locally adapted seedlings of various species. Thank you Jeff Snyder.

Notes From the Chair

At our March 18 Joint Chapter meeting with Small Woodlands, Jason Spadaro of SDS gave a very informative and interesting presentation of lumber supply and demand in the Columbia Region as well as some outlooks for the future. If you didn't attend, you missed a good program.

We decided to sponsor a middle school student to attend the summer forestry camp put on by the World Forestry Center. We did this two years ago. The cost is about $350. I can't think of a better thing to spend our Chapter funds on. Our Chapter seedling sale on Saturday, April 17 will hopefully earn some money to help with the cost. We will need volunteers for that. It will last from 9:00 am to 1:00 PM in front of the Safeway store in Hood River.
