EXERCISE CLASSES OFFERED with VIRGINIA THOMAS beginning  JANUARY 2

Our ability to offer these classes is dependant on getting folks signed up and committed. Please contact Virginia vmthomas59@hotmail.com

The three class styles that Virginia is currently offering

·  Abdominal & Flexibility Class- Focusing on working the abdominal muscles then stretching all muscle groups through their full range of motion to increase blood flow and flexibility.  A great class for everyone, especially those that ski and don’t have time for stretching.

·
Functional Circuit Training- Functional training helps to strengthen those muscle groups which we use in our daily activities whether it be gardening, or skiing.  Stations will be set up to work specific muscle groups and rotated through to achieve a full body workout.

· Pilates Mat Class- Pilates classes will focus on working the core while lengthening, stretching, and balancing all muscle groups.  Pilates generates strength, stability, and stamina.  Great for improving athletic abilities, and for those with a variety of problems including lower back, shoulder joint, and hips.  Pilates a flowing style of yoga has less emphasis on breathing.

Mt Hood Railroad Centennial Postage Event

The Mt Hood Railroad made its first trip to /from the Hood River Depot to Odell on February 2, 1906 and is thus celebrating its Centennial birthday on February 2, 2006!  Post Offices in Odell and Hood River are cooperating with the railroad and regional post office with two special centennial post marks, one for each location, to be affixed to antique stamps on specially decorated envelopes.  Jack and Kate Mills will be covering the costs and Mt Hood Towne Hall volunteers will be donating the labor as a fundraiser for the MHTH.  Thank you Jack and Kate for your on-going generosity and support of the building and the community.

Another revenue source for the MHTH will be from the new Mt Hood Railroad Centennial books now available at Mt Hood Artisan’s Market in Parkdale. The cost is $20 and all proceeds from books purchased through the store or a MHTH board member go to the MHTH.  On February 2, 2006 book sales made in Odell will go to the MHTH as well.

MHTH Yearly Calendar of Events

As the MHTH develops more community gatherings, events and classes we’d like to keep you abreast of what we have to offer.  Here is a calendar of events for 2006.  Please be sure to set aside dates that interest you.

Our website is still in the developmental stage. We apologize to those who used it for the Neighborhood Fair only to receive incorrect class times.  We hope to make it interactive & keep it updated. If you’d like to offer a class, start a club or rent the building – let us know so we can help.
