Doug's Beach
A  400-acre, undeveloped day-use park on the Columbia River. Picnic tables and shade trees line the shore.
One of the premier windsurfing sites in the Columbia Gorge, Doug's beach is rated for advanced sailors. 

Columbia Hills State Park
Columbia Hills State Park is a 338-acre camping park with 7,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Columbia River. Horsethief Butte dominates the skyline. It stands over the lake like an ancient castle. also a National Historic Site. Guided tours of the pictographs and petroglyphs (Indian rock art) begin at 10 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, April to October. Reservations are required.  

Goldendale Observatory State Park
Goldendale Observatory State Park is a five-acre educational facility on a 2,100-foot-high hilltop. The observatory houses one of the nation's largest public telescopes and has attracted sky-watchers since its opening in 1973. The observatory is open to anyone who wants to view the universe.
