Parents and Guardians

So an important girl in your life wants to join Girl Scouts? While you probably have many questions, here are some key facts:

  • Girl Scouts puts girls first. Research studies show a benefit to same-gender learning environments. We agree!
  • Three goals — values, leadership, and diversity — permeate every aspect of Girl Scouting.
  • We are a values-based organization. That means character, conduct, and community service count.

These are just a few of the benefits of girls' being involved in Girl Scouting. Girls learn important life skills — and have fun — through the Girl Scout program.

You also have an important role to play in supporting girls in Girl Scouting. And along the way, you'll probably learn something new, make friends, and improve your relationship with a special Girl Scout. Research shows that's what happens in Girl Scouting.

Your Role in Girl Scouting

If the girl in your life is in Girl Scouting, she can't do it without your help. Adult involvement and support is critical to ensuring a positive experience for all girls in Girl Scouting.
