    CALENDAR OF EVENTS

2/24/2007 Thinking Day

·         Official day to celebrate the start of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in the world – anniversary on Feb. 22

·         We will celebrate it on Saturday, Feb. 24 @ 12-4 PM

·         It will tentatively be at Grace Baptist Church in White Salmon

·         Troops need to start thinking about what country they will represent,  (click box for form)

Please join Wapeka and Wy’east Girl Scouts for our annual World Thinking Day celebration.

Each year, to honor Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries, Girl Scouts around the United States gather together to participate in activities, games and projects with global themes.

World Thinking Day offers Girl Scouts an opportunity to learn more about the world around them. The theme this year is Think Globally, Act Locally. Girls are encouraged to design activities that increase cultural awareness and emphasize the positive similarities between U.S. Girl Scouts and their sisters throughout the world.

To get your girls thinking and get them to make the Global-Local connection, ask them to think about how people in their daily lives, products or businesses they use, or things that they do in their daily life connect them to other countries and other girls.
