A. General Activities
1. We assisted the Park during Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend. Our assistance consisted mainly of providing additional viewing opportunities for visitors, by bringing along our telescopes. During busy weekends, visitors can have a long wait before being able to look through the Observatory’s 24.5 inch main telescope. Our instruments gave them additional opportunities, hopefully giving them a richer experience.

We provided a
$2,500 scholarship to a graduating high school student, who worked at the
Observatory for the summer. The

3. We held a Star Party at the Observatory in October, attracting amateur astronomers and local visitors.

Our income was $ 1597 from gifts and
donations. Our expenditures totaled the
$2,500 for the scholarship mentioned above.
B. Recruiting
We recruited about 13 new members as a result of the above activities, through flyers we provide at the Observatory, and through our web page.
