The Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) offers mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. MCCFL offices are located in Hood River, The Dalles and Condon. The MCCFL is the designated "Community Mental Health Program" and "Community Developmental Disability Program" for Hood River, Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam Counties.

The Developmental Disability Program offers services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. The "DD Program" is the entry point into certain state-funded supports for people with developmental disabilities. Contact the DD Program to apply for a determination of eligibility for DD Services. Client Services Coordinators work with eligible individual and their families to identify and plan for the individual's support needs, make referrals to community resources, monitor the delivery of resources, abuse investigations and more.

Volunteer dentists and laboratories provide dental care services for individuals with disabilities in need of dental care. Oregon Donated Dental Services includes 354 volunteer dentists and 92 volunteer laboratories. Visit the web site to download an application form. Priority is given to those with dental care needs and limited personal financial resources.

Information about epilepsy and advocacy for people who experience epilepsy; publications and education for the public, support groups and mentoring programs.

Camp Discovery is open to children with epilepsy and their siblings. All children must be between the ages of 7 and 17 (Children over 17 can be considered for the Counselor in Training program). The Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families connects families, caregivers and friends of children with disabilities to resources, information and training. The Center offers a "My Child's Life Care Notebook and Organizer" free to parents of children with disabilities.

The Center's Library specializes in information relating to children with disabilities, including specific disabilities and conditions and parenting issues. Staff are available to provide research assistance.

The Center can also provide support through telephone and email.

The Planetree Health Resource Center, a part of the Mid-Columbia Medical Center, provides the public with access to health information. Knowledgeable and friendly staff will help visitors find information in their large collection of books, magazines, and files. The information collection also includes video, audio tapes, and audio CD's. Visitors may use the Public Internet at the Center for research, including access to specialized databases. The staff can provide visitors with information about local support groups, as well.
Some material is available in non English Languages.

The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability Physical Fitness
NCPAD promotes health benefits from participating in regular physical activity and provides information and resources to enable people with disabilities to become as physically active as they choose to be. NCPAD is a collaborative effort of the University of Illinois at Chicago and other organizations and government. http://www.ncpad.org

The web site includes use of short narrated videos illustrating specific exercise, a virtual library focusing on physical fitness and equipment, interactive resources and online media presentations.
